Dr. Elmo Tackles IRS In New Tune

SAN FRANCISCO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The man who gave the world “Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer” is now taking a run at the Internal Revenue Service.

Dr. Elmo Shropshire, who sings the Christmas comedy classic, has just released a new seasonal tune, “Don’t Mess With The IRS,” that he hopes does for Tax Season what “Grandma” did for Christmas.

Some of the taxing lyrics include: You can cause a rolling blackout in the West/ While you stuff another billion in your vest/ After you’ve molested everyone you please/ They just move you to another diocese, followed by the refrain, But don’t mess with the kinder, more caring IRS.

Dr. Elmo has been dealing with the IRS for years because when the song first became a radio “...the local IRS came sniffing around thinking I was making money.”

Despite the cynical tone of the tune, Dr. Elmo thinks the IRS should embrace the song as hold music.

Ironically, Dr. Elmo is also putting plans for a whole IRS- themed album on hold. As he puts it, “Tax season can be painful and a whole album of my songs might be too much pain for everyone.”
