Popcorn Flavored Ice Cream Will Have People Popping Into Ice Cream Parlor

FREDONIA, N.Y. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – An ice cream maker in Fredonia, New York, won’t need to butter up anyone to get them to fall for his April Fools’ Day joke: popcorn flavored ice cream.

Steve Aldrich runs Aldrich’s Beef And Ice Cream Parlor and for the last 23 years, he’s been offering special flavors on April Fool’s Day that range from the ridiculous to the inedible.

Last year, he served “beet” flavor and in years past he’s scooped up chocolate spaghetti, sauerkraut and chicken wings ice cream as well.

Aldrich began the tasteless tradition after a gravy salesman friend dared him to make gravy ice cream. Aldrich's response: ``You bring the gravy and I’ll make the ice cream.”

This year, Aldrich anticipates the locals will be popping by to try his popcorn ice cream. In his words, “Popcorn and ice cream are two of my favorite foods, why not eat them together?”

Luckily, customers don’t seem to mind being the butt of Aldrich’s joke. As he puts it, ”They don’t spit it out. The majority of people finish the whole thing.”

Some people even buy cartons of it so, in Aldrich’s words ”they can continue the joke at the dinner table.”
