English Indy Car Racer Hopes Pixel Page Earns Him Checkered Flag

BIRMINGHAM, England (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – An English-based IndyPro race car driver is hoping that pixel page web advertising will steer him to the U.S.

Twenty-year-old Scott Mansell has launched to finance his chance to compete in the 2006 American IRL Indy Pro Series.

For $100, the advertiser gets a 20-by-50 pixel on his website and a one-by-two-and-a-half-inch ad on his race car.

Mansell says he’s resorted to advertising this way because his normal British-based sponsors have no need to advertise in the states.

His goal is $1 million, and so far he has about 30 ads.

Mansell says finding funding is “really frustrating” because mentally and physically he is fit, and his confidence is “very high.”

He says this is the last piece of the puzzle and he “feels so close.”
