Compiling Greatest Hits CD Hits Lisa Loeb Hard

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Anyone who thinks compiling a greatest hits album is easy will get an argument from Lisa Loeb.

The singer-songwriter has just released The Very Best Of Lisa Loeb, and she admits it was almost as hard as doing an original album because she wanted the order of songs to be just right.

As she puts it, “It was very important that it be mood- oriented, not chronological, so that the songs flow together.”

She feels that if you put a fast song next to a slow song, it can feel “ jumping from a swimming pool to a jacuzzi.”

Other criteria also went into the CD. Loeb knows she had to include hits like “Stay (I Missed You)” and “I Do” but also wanted to include fan favorites from the live shows.

It wasn’t easy but Loeb is very happy with the record, especially because of its newest song, “#1 Single,” which is the title theme of her E! Network reality show. In her words, “I like it because it’s a real song, not just a theme.”
