Illeana Douglas Happy To Pick Up ‘Crumbs’

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Actress Illeana Douglas works mostly in independent movies but she’s happy to pick up a few “crumbs” working on sitcoms.

In fact, she’ll be doing just that starting Thursday (Feb. 16) when she guest stars on the ABC comedy, Crumbs.

Douglas will be portraying the pregnant hippie girlfriend of cast member William Devane and she likes the role because unlike other mistresses, she’s actually trying to bring the family together, not drive them apart.

It’s a switch for Douglas because she’s used to doing the funny roles and this part requires her “...to be the straight person for a change.”

Douglas is hoping for a recurring role on the sitcom; an idea that gets support from Devane, who told her, “Once you’re on TV, they can’t get rid of you.”
