‘Last Comic Standing’ Judges Fearing ‘Brokeback Mountain’ Jokes

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Talent scouts for the NBC reality show Last Comic Standing are about to start a nationwide search for the new season, and they’re seriously worried about the Brokeback Mountain effect.

It’s no joke. Talent scouts Bob Read and Ross Mark say every search has its own unique overplayed topic for jokes.

For instance, the first season Read and Mark heard more Michael Jackson jokes than any human should have to endure while the second season brought a rash of “Arnold Schwarzenegger as governor” jokes.

This year, Read and Mark are fearing tons of Brokeback Mountain jokes and are asking aspiring comics to have mercy on them.

Auditions begin Feb. 21 in Los Angeles with stops in Tempe, Arizona; Austin, Texas; Chicago; New York and Miami.

If all goes as planned, the show will debut the first week of June.
