Philanthropist Funds All-Expense Paid Trips To New York For Romantic Letter Writers

TEL AVIV, Israel (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – If you’re a regular Casanova, you could win a romantic trip to New York based on your writing skills.

Philanthropist Henri Zimand is sponsoring a love letter- writing competition in honor of his late wife, Anda, who died from breast cancer in 2001.

Zimand says that he and his wife were always exchanging love letters, but today, even around Valentine’s Day, he notes, “People forget to do it.”

The sweetest, sappiest letters may be submitted at AndaSpiritUSA.com until Feb. 7, when the 12 best letters will be chosen. On Feb. 12, the winning writers and their significant others will be flown to New York for three nights in the city and a romantic Valentine’s Day date.

Zimand says the panel of literary judges – including a group called The Romance Writers of America – are simply looking for “a beautiful love letter. It needs to come from the heart.”

He says the letter can be written to a girlfriend, boyfriend, husband, wife or even a dolphin. As Zimand puts it, “This is an open competition. We’re talking about love.”
