Kim Char Meredith is planning an 18-hour non-stop bake-a-thon for charity and figures to bake up roughly 80 dozen cookies in 18 hours starting Sunday (Dec. 11) at 6 a.m. CT thats a rate of one cookie every 67 seconds.
Meredith says she got the idea after reading a Parade magazine article on The Great American Bake Sale and wanted to teach her 11-year-old son that Christmas is not all about Xboxes.
She figures shell make eight different types of cookies with her orange-cranberry pinwheels being the most fancy- shmancy of the batch.
Meredith has already put up her batch of cookies for sale in an online auction at eBay, which will end Thursday (Dec. 8).
Currently, the bidding stands at $137 dollars, and she plans to donate all the proceeds to Share Our Strength an anti- hunger organization.
