Life Is Beautiful Music For ‘Veronica Mars’ Star

SAN DIEGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Actress Kristen Bell is hearing great things about her work in the UPN series, Veronica Mars, but admits there’s a crucial part of her performance that she doesn’t hear about until each episode is ready to air.

The show’s creator, Rob Thomas, uses music to express what he calls the character’s “head space” but doesn’t tell Bell what songs are being used until the end of production.

Bell says Thomas’ song choices are so “dead on that it’s scary” and says he’s introduced her to acts like the Dandy Warhols, Spoon and Stereophonics, whose songs have appeared on the series.

One musical act that probably won’t make the cut on future soundtracks is Bell herself, despite making a smash appearance singing “Fame” at this year’s Emmy Awards.

She admits producers have talked about doing a musical episode but “the other actors say they can’t sing so it would be just me.”

Veronica Mars airs Wednesdays and the first season was just released on DVD.
