Real Helen Of Troy Was Pretty Greasy

LONDON (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Helen Of Troy was supposedly the standard of beauty in ancient Greece, but if she was alive today, she would just be considered greasy.

That’s according to British historian Bettany Hughes, host of a new documentary, Helen Of Troy, debuting Wednesday (Oct. 12) on PBS.

Although movies like Troy portray Helen as “a rosy-tinted soft creature with curls and a pink toga,” Hughes says that was based on what was considered attractive in the Bronze Age, the real Helen looked much different.

Hughes figures that the real Helen had a big nose, hairy eyebrows, a big bottom and very large breasts.

In addition, she would be very greasy because, back then, it was the custom for beautiful women to drench themselves in olive oil from head-to-toe.

Although that description doesn’t immediately conjure a vision of beauty, Hughes is convinced that Helen would still be a hottie who would resemble a combination of Jennifer Aniston, Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Lopez.
