‘So You Think You Can Dance’ Champ All About Versatility

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Now that Nick Lazzarini – the 20-year-old champion of So You Think You Can Dance – has twirled his way into a New York apartment for a year and $100,000 in prize money, he thinks it’s time more dancers were recognized for their versatility and hard work.

He explains, “We’re not just about background dancing. Dance is a lot more than hip-hop and shaking your butt behind Britney Spears.

Lazzarini says because of the physical and mental demands, “...dancers work 10 times harder than singers or actors,” and hopes his winning performance on the series showed just that.

After proving himself on-air in styles like disco, tango, hip- hop, lyrical and more, Lazzarini says he doesn’t want to stop there.

The champion hoofer admits he’d have no problem performing a show wearing German lederhosen and getting degraded on stage, because, he says, “I want to look back and say I did pretty much everything a dancer can do.”

Besides, he adds, “I would just have a blast doing that. I love making fun of myself on stage.”
