Actor Fakes Golfing Ability – And Impresses Tiger Woods

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Actor Shia LaBeouf’s new movie, The Greatest Game Ever Played, hasn’t even opened yet but he’s already getting the best review of his life – from Tiger Woods.

LaBeouf plays 1913 U.S. Open champion Francis Ouimet and is proud that Woods, who has seen the movie’s screening, praised his golf swing as the best “he’s ever seen from any actor on film.”

High praise indeed. Especially because LaBeouf had never played the sport before being cast for the part. Still, he put in hours of work on his swing because, he notes, “when golfers see the swing, if it’s not real, the facade is broken.”

But while LaBeouf worked on his golf swing before making the film, he hasn’t returned to the course since then saying he doesn’t have enough time.

There’s another reason as well. He admits, “I don’t want to become a golf crackhead, one of these guys who goes 4 under and he’s screaming because he’s not 6 under. No matter how good you get, you’re never satisfied.”

The Greatest Game Ever Played opens U.S.-wide on Friday (Sep. 30).
