Tattoo Points For Creativity, Not ‘Cabaret’

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Here’s a tip for tatted guys and gals looking to win Best Tattoo at the Coney Island Tattoo and Motorcycle Festival: Don’t show up with Liza Minelli etched anywhere.

The festival’s 20th anniversary is this Sunday (Sep. 25) and host/MC Dick Zigun says of all the tattoos he’s seen, the worst entry was “...a tattoo of Liza Minelli, which I don’t approve of. It was from the movie Cabaret. She was never cool in my opinion.”

Zigun says creativity is the key to winning “a cheesy plaque.” He cites a guy who tattooed two female legs surrounding his armpit hair, and another man whose “entire back from his shoulders to his butt was a tree trunk” as two of his past favorites.

For those who aren’t inked, Zigun says there’s always the Best Butt category, explaining, “You don’t have to have a tattoo. If you have a nice butt, you stand a chance of winning.”

People with “hogs” can win plaques too, but Zigun warns The Ugliest Motorcycle award may go to “a brand new, expensive Japanese model just to show that we think Harley Davidsons are cool.”
