Celebrate Return Of NFL With ‘Football Thanksgiving’

STERLING, Va. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Football season is coming and you probably won’t find two more excited people than Laura and Donald Poindexter.

The two Virginia residents are die-hard Dallas Cowboys fans who are promoting a holiday they created called Football Thanksgiving.

This year marks the seventh year the couple will be celebrating the holiday, which observes the return of the NFL on the first Sunday of the regular season.

This year, that day is Sept. 11, and Laura Poindexter suggests pigskin-loving folks celebrate with a bunch of people by chowing on turkey with all the fixings since “it signifies a big get-together.”

Also, make the most of the big day by having several TVs going so you can watch every game.

In addition, Poindexter says “game day gear” like a jersey is appropriate for the holiday as is consuming multiple alcoholic beverages.
