‘Lost’ Star Owes It All To Luke Skywalker

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – For Lost star Dominic Monaghan, the desire to be an actor started long, long ago in a galaxy far, far away.

Monaghan – who rose to fame in the Lord Of The Rings trilogy – says he started acting because he loved the first Star Wars film so much that he memorized the first 45 minutes word for word.

Although it sparked his desire to act, Monaghan admits he is boggled when he meets fans of Lost or LOTR who are just as obsessed about those projects as he was about Star Wars.

As he puts it, “I don’t feel for one minute that [LOTR and Lost] are on the level of Star Wars simply because I’ve not processed it. I don’t think of it that way yet.”

He better get used to it since he’s hearing more and more people tell him that LOTR has replaced Star Wars as their favorite trilogy.

And, of course, the Lost cult is still growing and should only get bigger since the first season’s DVD hit stores on Tuesday (Sept. 6) and season two begins Sept. 21 on ABC.
