‘Prison Break’ Star Doesn’t Want To Be A Prison Heartthrob

CHICAGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – If you were on Death Row, would you care how you looked? The star of the new FOX series Prison Break certainly doesn’t.

Dominic Purcell plays condemned-to-death inmate Lincoln Burrows on the show and says he had no problem shaving his head and sacrificing workouts to accurately portray a prisoner.

In his words, “I didn’t want to look like I went to the gym all day and hung out at the beach. This show is not The O.C.”

Besides, he jokes, “Do you think I’d try to cute myself up for the guys on Death Row?”

Though Purcell describes his character as edgy and “very volatile,” he insists, “The guy’s not a psychopath.”

He thinks people will realize Lincoln is a good guy as soon as they see him interact with his son in the two-hour premiere this Monday (Aug. 29).

Purcell’s not saying he’ll go completely soft. There are no tears, but he says it’s “a very traumatic scene.”
