Megadeth Singer Mega-Good At Picking Bands

CHICAGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Megadeth leader Dave Mustaine is pretty good at picking which bands will become mega-stars.

Mustaine says he listens to all kinds of music and says he can tell instantly which ones will make it. He prides himself on having picked Stone Temple Pilots and Madonna to click with the public and hopes to continue his lucky streak on his newest project, as the headlining act on Gigantour, a traveling festival that features some of his favorite bands, including Dream Theatre, Fear Factory and Dillinger Escape Plan.

He figures the bands will become even more popular as the result of the tour.

Still, he’s confident that his own band’s status in the rock world is assured and that none of the other bands will become bigger than his own just yet.

As he puts it, “It’s going to take a lot more than a year to have the kind of legacy we do.”

Gigantour will be in Pittsburgh on Wednesday (Aug. 17) and end Sept. 3 in Toronto.
