Clown Cruelty Is Not Funny

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Clowns all over the world will be steppin’ out in their best oversized shoes today (Aug. 1) to kick off International Clown Week, but sadly, many of those shoes will be stepped on in acts of clown cruelty.

Paul Kleinberger – also known as Fuddi Duddy the Clown – says clowns endure all kinds of abuse, especially in the foot area.

He explains, “You always have the wise little smart ass who says, ‘I’m going to step on your shoes.’ And those shoes are custom made and cost an excess of $300!”

Kleinberger says the worst incident he’s heard of was when one clown lost a toe after a kid whacked the clown’s foot with a hammer.

Kleinberger, who’s been clowning around for 15 years, now has his own Clown School where he teaches self-protection to new clowns because, he says, “There are a lot of wackos out there.”

Instead of worrying about the next hit, Kleinberger says he would rather spend his time educating the public about clowns and supporting charities. He adds, “That’s really what Clown Week is all about.”
