Bob Hope’s PR Guy Hoping For The Best

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Bob Hope has been dead for nearly two years but his longtime P.R. guy is still working overtime.

Ward Grant – who worked for Hope for 33 years – is now campaigning to have the British-born comedian chosen as “the greatest American of all time” for the Discovery Channel series, The Greatest American.

Hope is one of the top 25 candidates and is up against Abe Lincoln, Elvis Presley and Oprah Winfrey for the coveted honor.

Grant thinks his former boss deserves the honor because of all the work he did entertaining troops and because Hope is “probably the only one who probably knew everybody else on the list.”

Grant admits it may be hard to beat George Washington but is asking fellow Americans to vote for Hope because he represents the American dream: “He’s an immigrant who dined with presidents and kings but never forgot his roots.”

The Greatest American airs on Sundays and fans can vote by calling 866-669-3113 or online at
