‘Travel Spies’ Find Hotels Honor Outrageous Requests

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Next time you’re traveling and you have to ask the hotel for more soap, don’t feel guilty – you could have asked them to install a custom toilet seat.

That’s what the undercover operatives on a new show, Travel Spies requested at one New York hotel to test the limits of how far the staff would stretch their hospitality.

Travel spy Nilou Motamed posed as an assistant to a fictional fussy fashion designer who is so germophobic he insists on bringing his own toilet seat when he travels.

The hotel fulfilled her request to fit the new john cover, even resorting to using packing tape to keep the seat in place.

In other adventures, Motamed and her fellow spies asked hotels to organize luaus in their guest rooms and even stage a marriage proposal involving the world’s smallest diamond ring and a 40-ouncer of malt liquor.

Surprisingly, she says most hotels are willing to fulfill the outrageous requests in order to make their guests happy.

Travel Spies premieres June 13 on the Travel Channel.
