Variety Show Gives Taste Of True New Yorker

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A new variety show promises to show what a real New Yorker is all about – and surprisingly, it’s not all middle fingers and curse words.

It Came From New York! is a 75-minute show in which native New York comedians and storytellers explain what’s it’s like to grow up in the Big Apple.

The show takes place every Wednesday at a comedy club called Juvie Hall and touches on different topics such as “Me & You Down By The Schoolyard” and “Where the @#$! Are You From?”

The show’s host, Michele Carlo, says she hopes the show dispels stereotypes of New Yorkers and gives the audience “a taste of what makes a New Yorker tick.”

In her words, “The main point is not to say ‘we’re better than you,’ but instead ‘this is where we’re coming from.’”

Although Carlo hopes native New Yorkers come to laugh at themselves, she really wants audience members from out of town to come and see the softer side of Big Apple natives.
