Lights, Camera And Plenty Of Action At Sex Worker Film Festival

San Francisco (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A film festival takes place Friday (May 6) and Saturday (May 7) in San Francisco and it will offer lights, camera and plenty of action.

It’s the 4th Sex Worker Film Festival and includes 50 films written by and about sex workers.

Organizer Carol Leigh says the entries include a documentary about Xaviera Hollander’s childhood in a concentration camp before she became the Happy Hooker and a film that focuses on black women who do whatever they can to get a piece of the American dream – whether it be selling drugs, sex or bootleg CDs.

Another film, Other People’s Mirrors, is being described as “The Blair Witch Project of erotica” and features scenes of public sex all over New York City.

Leigh – who is a part-time prostitute under the name “Scarlet Harlot” – hopes the sex worker film festival proves the existing link between prostitution and the arts and also, shows that sex makes the creative juices flow.
