Paranormal Expert Wants To Scare Up Truth About Amityville Horror

NEWCASTLE, England (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The Amityville Horror remake opens in movie theaters April 15, but a paranormal expert in Newcastle, England, is hoping to scare up the truth about the real-life incident that inspired the film some time before May.

Paranormal investigator Dean Maynard is visiting Amityville, New York, in the next few weeks for a new documentary on the supposedly-haunted house.

The case has inspired large numbers of believers and skeptics alike and Maynard wants to interview people on both sides of the issue. But he’s especially interested in speaking with George Lutz, who lived in the house for 28 days before abandoning it and leaving $40,000 inside.

Maynard also would like to talk with the current owner in hopes of “spending the night on the couch or having a spot of tea with him.” He also wants to interview imprisoned Ronald DeFeo, who, as a teenager, killed six family members in the house, but the investigator admits chances of that happening are slim.

Whether or not the Amityville Horror house is truly haunted, Maynard says the case is now a part of pop culture and figures, “six people were killed there so there has to be some negative energy.”
