‘Swan Lake’ Like You’ve Never Seen It

DUBLIN, Ireland (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Instead of finding a pot of gold at this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Festival in Dublin, folks will find pot bellies in tutus.

That’s because two overweight middle-aged men wearing nothing but plastic tutus will be performing their own special version of Swan Lake.

Craig Weston, a co-founder and actor of The Primitive Theatre Company in Belgium, says that the performance in Merrion Square will be a modern comic version of the ballet told in way that will touch the audience with its “emotional integrity.”

Weston, who also teaches theater at the Conservatory of Dramatic Arts in Gent, helped write the play in the effort to create “popular street theater that wasn’t stupid.”

The price for admission won’t cost a pot of gold though; the Swan Lake performance will be free to all St. Patrick’s Day revelers.
