‘Survivor’ Ethan Gets Bummed About Colon Cancer

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Survivor: Africa winner Ethan Zohn is feeling bummed out these days – and it’s all has to do with the colon.

As a child, the 31-year-old reality show star lost his dad to colorectal cancer, and now he’s trying to get young folks to encourage their older family members to be screened for the disease.

Zohn is particularly bummed that young folks are reluctant to talk about the rear end. In his words, “They think, ‘Eww, it’s colorectal cancer. We can’t talk about the rectum.’

He feels that by participating in the “Make Screening A Reality” campaign, he might change some minds. As he puts it, “If they see me and I’m not afraid to talk about it, they’ll think it’s not a big deal and they’ll talk to their dads about it.”

Zohn knows about screening firsthand: He had a colonoscopy about a year and a half ago and brags, “it was my 30th birthday present to myself.”

By the way, March is National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month.
