Have An Anti-Valentine’s Party

SYDNEY, Australia (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Valentine’s Day can be bloody awful if you don’t have a special someone – but it doesn’t have to be that way, according to a real-life Bridget Jones in Sydney, Australia.

Kirsten Leigh Pratt is a record executive who says single people can have a fun time on Feb. 14 by spending it with friends and listening to her new CD, Departure Lounge: World Love Whatever, which compiles some of the most cynical love songs ever.

For instance, the album includes bossa nova remakes of Joy Division’s cult hit, “Love Will Tear Us Apart,” and a Johnny Rotten tune called “This Is Not A Love Song” and Pratt suggests lonely hearts tear up photos of their exes to the rhythms of the music.

Pratt also says the album can be used as a soundtrack when getting revenge, like when her friend sent a betraying lover a bullet with his name on it.

If the music isn’t your cup of tea, Pratt says you might want to sharpen the sides of the CD and toss it like a discus at the jerk who broke your heart.

But Pratt’s CD isn’t just a soundtrack for being miserable. She says it was designed to be a gift for people who just started dating and are in the stage when “love is still a dirty word.”
