ENCINITAS, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Having no shoes and no shirt was absolutely no problem for one Amazing Race duo.

Dad and daughter Steve and Allie Smith were booted from the trek this past Sunday (Apr. 4) with just the clothes on their back.

Earlier in the Race, they accidentally forgot their backpacks at a challenge and rather than lose their lead, they continued without their personal stuff.

They only had their money, passports, and clothes they were wearing – no toiletries or clean underwear.

Allie says ditching their stuff “added in the adventure” of the Race and made them faster on foot.

She thinks they could’ve lasted until the end this way, mainly by relying on the kindness of strangers.

A woman at the Seychelles airport gave Allie some personal items and other teams donated hand-me-downs, proving “people will give – if you ask nicely.”

After elimination, Allie and Dad finally got their stuff back.

The Amazing Race airs Sundays on CBS.
