`Idol' Reject Draws From Coloring Books

HOUSTON (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The latest American Idol cast-off sure knows how to draw inspiration for a performance.Paige Miles was booted from Idol this past Wednesday (Mar. 24) after her voice pooped out from a pesky case of laryngitis.
But at least the former preschool teacher showed her true colors on the show – literally.
A few weeks back, Miles revealed that she curbs her jitters before each performance by doodling in coloring books.
She picked up the relaxation technique from her young students, who’ve been sending her goodie bags filled with crayons and coloring books throughout her stint on Idol.
Though it may seem weird, Miles insists that coloring has been her soothing savior in the midst of the high-stress singing competition.
She says, “It helps me focus. Some people do yoga or meditate to calm their nerves, I look at a box of crayons. It works!”
Idol airs Tuesdays and Wednesdays on FOX.
