EL DORADO HILLS, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – At one cutting- edge barber shop, folks come for a trim but stay for the freak show.Barber Jon’s World Famous Barber Shop in El Dorado Hills, California, boasts old-timey sideshow charm with an odd curiosities museum right in the building.
While getting a cut or a shave, patrons can check out a real life mermaid that washed up on the shores of Fiji and the bust of Bigfoot.
Not only that, owner “Barber Jon” shows off his sharp precision every Friday by laying on a bed of nails and ripping telephone books in half.
He’s set to open a second location in Granite Bay, California, that’ll double as a car wash, a combination he feels is a good fit.
Says Barber Jon: “We’re pioneers. I’m [Meriwether] Lewis and my friends are [William] Clark.”
Customers are treated like old friends upholding the shop’s mantra: “You’re only a stranger once.”
