Mommy, What's A Record?

Monday, March 8, 2010 18:16 GMT

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Don’t expect Melissa Etheridge’s kids to make a record any time soon – they don’t even know what that is.

Although the Grammy winner would support all four of her youngsters if they wanted to sing just like Mommy, she says they still have a lot to learn about her job.

Etheridge recently showed them her old 45 record player and they were all confused and thought it was a toy.

She says, “I pulled it out and was like, ‘This is a record player and here’s a record.’ They asked, ‘Did you only do one song at a time?’”

She spent the rest of the afternoon explaining to them that there are 10 songs on a record and that you have to turn it over for more.

Etheridge laughs, “They really had no idea what it was!”

The crooner just finished her 11th album – available digitally or in modern-day CD form – Fearless Love, slated to drop this spring.
