LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Even serious films like Precious and Avatar can inspire a fun, light- hearted Oscar party.Fandango.com, the nation’s leading movie-ticketing service, has ideas on how this year’s Best Picture nominees could be incorporated into viewing parties.
For an Avatar-themed bash, hosts could decorate with fake plants, serve blue Terra chips, and ask guests to paint themselves blue or wear safari outfits. For party favors, eco- friendly canvas bags should do the trick.
For a Precious party, guests can wear gowns, tuxes, and feather boas – everything that helped Precious escape from reality into a fantasy world.
The Blind Side can be turned into a football-themed party complete with beer and jerseys, while an Up In The Air shindig could be business attire only, with in-flight- style bags of peanuts and mini liquor bottles.
Fandago reports that 32 percent of moviegoers are planning to attend or host an Academy Awards-viewing party this Sunday (Mar. 7).
