Personality Makes The Rat

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Beauty doesn’t always beat brains.

At most pageants, a good personality doesn’t get you as far as a hot body – unless you’re a rat competing in the Fancy Rat And Mouse Show this Saturday (Jan. 23) in Riverside, California.

Breeders will show off their prized rodents, who are judged by color, body type, and most importantly, personality.

Spokesperson Dale Taylor says that no matter how pretty a rat is, they’ll be exterminated from the running if they have a terrible attitude.

She explains, “They have to have the full combination. If the rat is perfect in every way, but it’s ornery or skiddish it won’t win.”

If one of the rats is mean enough to bite one of the judges, that calls for an immediate disqualification.

For this reason, mild-mannered mice are a major commodity with breeders who look to cross them with rats in order to make sweet pets.
