Hug After New Year’s Kiss

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – To avoid any awkwardness, go right into hugging after kissing on New Year’s Eve (Dec. 31).

That’s from the lips of Andrea Demirjian, author of Kissing: Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About One Of Life’s Sweetest Pleasures (Penguin).

The puckering pro says a big hug will keep the love flowing and prevent any weirdness between a pair after kissing at midnight.

Since a New Year’s smooch is so anticipated, preparation is key.

Demirjian suggests drinking water between champagne and cocktails throughout the night to curb cottonmouth.

There should also be no kissing before midnight because there’s “something special” about waiting.

She says a solid New Year’s kiss lasts about 20 seconds. It can be open-mouth or with tongue, but warns, “No one wants to see a full makeout session.”

She also recommends keeping the eyes closed during the lip- lock, since open-eye kissing is a very private and intense technique.
