Comic Nerds Need Fuel

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Comic book creators need to feed to write a comic with speed.

This Saturday (Oct. 3), comic dweebs around the world will challenge their skills by participating in “24-Hour Comics Day,” where they put together an original 24-page comic book in just 24 hours.

Spokesperson Atom! Freeman says to power through the marathon illustration session, comic nerds need the right fuel.

Along with feeding off the “buzz they get from creating,” participants are pumped with cases of energy drinks and “dosed” with nutritious snacks provided by local restaurants and markets that help them stay awake through the entire event.

Even with the sustenance, Freeman says many crash and burn and are relegated to the “cot of shame,” a cot provided at every event location for those who can’t hang.

He says, “It’s just as much of a physical challenge and some aren’t prepared for it. But once you get past 5 AM, you’re good.”
