The funnyman admits his impersonations can be hit or miss, like the time did a spoof as Whitney Houstons young daughter, which the diva was quite upset about.
Looking back, Thompson can see why Whitney was pissed and notes that making fun of kids is always a gamble.
Another mimicking that missed the mark was the time he tried to do Jay Leno, which was so bad, it never even aired.
Thompson confesses, Everyone hated it.
On the flip side, Thompsons impressions of Al Roker and Bill Cosby have gone over well with both viewers and the stars themselves, who praised the portrayals.
Thompson may resurface those this season, and take a poke at loud-mouth rapper Kanye Wests mannerisms and controversies.
The 35th season of SNL premieres this Saturday (Sep. 26) on NBC.
