Got2Go is an iPhone application that sends a fake text or voice message to a person’s cell, giving them the perfect excuse to get out of anything.
Users get a realistic message from a made-up mom, dad, or friend and even choose the severity of the exit strategy – ranging from someone losing their keys and needing help getting in their house to a car accident – so as to ensure an easy getaway.
Creator Josh Rosenberg came up with the app after being on too many bad dates and needing a way to escape.
He says, “If there’s an emergency it’s all the excuse you need. You can show whoever you’re with the message and they can’t say anything.”
Rosenberg has heard of people getting out of lame parties, business meetings, and even jury duty by using the app.
