Twilight and the consequent vampire craze is spilling over into kids’ fashion, which will include lots of black duds, gothic-inspired accessories, and motorcycle jackets this fall.
According to Michelle Kouzmine, About.com’s resident kid’s fashion expert, the vampire trend will influence “rainy” color combos in clothes, like purple paired with black.
Flannel, as seen in Twilight, is also in, and Kouzmine is pretty sure places like Hot Topic will be a homebase for vampire style.
Besides vamps, Kouzmine says the ’80s are back in full- force. In fact, her own daughter has asked for a pair of high-top sneakers.
She also notes that girls’ back-to-school fashion has a more “sophisticated” quality to it this year, since the “annoying, in-your-face ‘Princess’” stuff covered in bling is out.
