Grylls of Man Vs. Wild fame is teaching folks how to survive in the city rather than the wild in a series of webisodes for Dos Equis on mostinterestingacademy.com.
Survival In The Modern Era features Grylls using his skills to navigate the urban landscape of New York City. He demonstrates how to survive commuting, fight off attackers, find food, and make an entrance at a party by climbing through air ducts.
According to Grylls, theres not much of a difference between city and wilderness survival since theyre both based on core principles like protecting yourself, following your instincts, and being inventive.
He says that the city can be wild, especially if you find yourself in an alley full of burly bikers more unpredictable than Mother Nature.
Grylls also notes that feats like hailing a cab or battling subway crowds in NYC are pure survival of the fittest, and so is outsmarting a mugger.
