Robot Bartenders Pour A Stiff Drink

SAN FRANCISCO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Robot bartenders really know how to get geeks tanked.

At the 6th Annual RoboGames this weekend (Jun. 12-14) in San Francisco, amateur and pro engineers will pit their homemade robots against one another in fierce battles involving BB guns, rocket launchers, and flame throwers.

When the heat in the ring gets too hot, the robot bartender competition will roll out drink mixing machines that can do everything from pour a beer to shake a martini.

Attendees shouldn’t chug the cocktails too quickly though, because they might short circuit.

Spokesperson David Calkins says, “The robots make very stiff drinks. My robot, Chapek, makes a very stiff martini. He also makes naughty comments about how you’re dressed or what you order.”

According to Calkins, a robot bartender beats a human one any day because, “They don’t have attitude, you don’t have to tip, and you don’t have to worry that they’re making out with a waitress in back instead of serving you.”
