Is Susan Boyle A Poor Sport?

KINGSTON, R.I. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Despite throwing a diva tantrum, frumpy singing sensation Susan Boyle doesn’t qualify as a bad sport.

After losing Britain’s Got Talent this past Saturday (May 30), Boyle lashed out backstage by verbally bashing the show, crying, and throwing water on a crew member.

She has since been admitted to a mental health clinic and though her meltdown seems unsportsmanlike, it’s not.

Dan Doyle – of the Institute for International Sport – says Boyle’s behavior was provoked by the pressures of fame and doesn’t blame her for putting on a sour face after the loss.

He says Boyle wasn’t consciously being a bad sport during her outburst and just needs practice in the art of losing gracefully.

Doyle says sportsmanship takes a lifetime to master and requires practice.

Upon losing, it’s best to take your mind to a positive state and think of all of the admirable things you’ve done rather than the loss.
