‘Idol’ Cast-Off Is One Tough Judge

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – When it comes to his family band, American Idol cast-off Scott MacIntyre is one tough judge.

MacIntyre was voted off Idol this past Wednesday (Apr. 8), but he has plenty to go home to.

Aside from his solo music, MacIntyre has a punk rock band with his brother called The Glutes, and a “MacIntyre Family Band” that includes his brother, sister, and mom.

MacIntyre says his dad is the only one who doesn’t sing in the band and laughs, “He auditions every year, but he hasn’t made it yet!”

Given his grueling experience on Idol, MacIntyre jokes that his dad needs to step it up and “work harder” to make the cut.

However, good ol’ Pops may be the very reason MacIntyre got into music in the first place.

He says, “My dad used to play guitar and sing, and I’d get out all the pots and pans and build a drum set so I could play with him.”

Idol airs Tuesdays and Wednesdays on FOX.
