Mobsters Full Of Hidden Talents

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Fuggedaboutit! Mafia men can do more than just whack other wiseguys.

Former mobster Louis Ferrante discovered his own hidden talent as a writer while locked up in prison, and writes about his time as a mafia man and his move into the literary world in his book, Unlocked: The Life And Crimes Of A Mafia Insider (HarperCollins).

Ferrante says he’s not the only gangster out there that’s multi-talented. In fact, many mob men can paint and garden as well as they racketeer.

He explains, “Every charismatic mob guy I’ve met could’ve succeeded in a number of occupations had they had the schooling. People would laugh, but there’s a lot of wasted talent in the mob.”

While in the slammer, Ferrante knew a mobster who kept “the most beautiful flower garden” he’s ever seen.

He’s also known mobsters who could’ve been architects, judging by the craftsmanship of the homes they’ve built for themselves.

He says, “It makes you think, “What the hell are you doing in the mob?’”
