Alcohol And Christmas: A Perfect Mix

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Stiff drinks make the holiday season go down much smoother.

Christmas time can be a real pain, but Valerie Peterson, author of Peterson’s Holiday Helper: Festive Pick-Me-Ups, Calm-Me-Downs, and Handy Hints to Keep You in Good Spirits (Clarkson Potter) has a few concoctions that can cure the holiday blues.

Peterson creates cocktails that can soothe any holiday problem, including the Retail Refresher, which combines dark rum, pineapple juice, and club soda, and makes shopping stress melt away.

You can also sip on a Cold Remedy, a mix of chicken broth, lemon juice, and vodka that protects you from getting sick on a crowded flight, or a Double-Stick Scotch Coffee, for when you run out of tape for wrapping and need a drink to calm your nerves.

Peterson says, “Alcohol gets you through the holidays. It’s your liver or your sanity, and a cocktail is a real solution to those little problems.”
