Obama Family Should Get A Portuguese Water Dog

ATLANTA (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – President-elect Barack Obama owes his daughters a puppy, but what breed should the First Pooch be?

Obama promised his daughters a pup after the election, and Registered Veterinary Technician Jenna Stregowski says the new First Family should opt for a Portuguese Water Dog (PWD).

Stregowski says the Obamas are in the market for a hypoallergenic pooch and PWDs aren’t big shedders.

Since they grow to be medium to large-sized dogs, Stregowski says the breed is perfect for the White House.

If they get a pup that’s too small, it may get lost in the spacious digs.

PWDs are very active, athletic pooches, a great fit for Obama’s energetic young daughters.

They’re also extremely loyal and protective watch dogs who will do anything to keep the First Family safe.

Stregowski says the “underrated” breed is very smart and easily trained, which could be a good project for the First Daughters.

If they don’t go for a PWD, Stregowski says the next best breed for the Prez’s posse would be a standard poodle.
