New York Crimes Keep ‘Law & Order’ Going

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The endless wave of violent crimes that plague New York City helps keep Law & Order fresh.

The long-running cop drama, which premieres its 19th season tomorrow (Nov. 5), never seems to run out of gruesome episode ideas, and creator Dick Wolf has the Big Apple’s crime rate to thank for it.

He says, “Unfortunately, crime is a constantly renewable source. The New York Post is not a bad piece of source material. We can’t come up with a better story than ‘Headless Body Found in Topless Bar’ on our own.”

Though Law & Order isn’t Wolf’s only baby, spawning sister shows Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Law & Order: Criminal Intent, he sees the original as his favorite.

He explains, “I love all my children, but do I have a soft spot for my first? Of course! Luckily the show’s are vastly different, even though they are held together by the logo.”
