‘Fringe’ Actor Swears He’s Funny

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Fringe actor Lance Reddick really wants the chance the flex his funny bone.

Reddick – best known for his role on HBO’s The Wire – plays a paranormal agent on the hit series Fringe, which airs Tuesdays on FOX.

The actor is used to playing agents and cops on screen but is dying to act in something funny to contrast his dramatic roles.

Reddick thinks he’s got what it takes to have viewers in stitches and would love to do slapstick comedy on film.

He says, “I was great at physical acting back in drama school.”

Reddick was recently bitten by the comedy bug when he watched Tropic Thunder starring Ben Stiller, Jack Black, and Robert Downey Jr., and thought to himself, “I gotta do this kind of stuff. Hire me, Stiller!”

He’s been mesmerized by the funny genre since he saw the 1974 Gene Wilder flick, Young Frankenstein, which Reddick dubs, “The best comedy ever, from beginning to end.”
