‘Crusoe’ Star Stranded After Three Hour Tour

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – One adventurous actor knows what it’s like to be stranded like Robinson Crusoe – kind of.

Philip Winchester plays the infamous island castaway on NBC’s new series Crusoe, premiering tomorrow (Oct. 17).

While he’s never been shipwrecked on a foreign island, Winchester did get stranded once in Billings, Montana, during a high school field trip.

He was in the band and they took a three-hour bus trip to a pep rally when bad weather forced them to seek refuge at a hotel.

He laughs, “It was a week and a half of foosball, hockey, and all kinds of stuff that didn’t involve schoolwork. I had it much easier than Robinson Crusoe though!”

But if Winchester did find himself beached like Crusoe, he could survive.

He says, “I grew up in Montana with an outdoors upbringing, so I have camping skills. I like to think I could survive but you never know.”

He wouldn’t be afraid of insects or animals on the island, but the loneliness would get to him.
