‘Starter Wife’ Actor Hates Miniature L.A. Food

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – One New York-born actor misses the big bites of the Big Apple.

David Alan Basche plays Debra Messing’s ex- husband in The Starter Wife, and admits he’s always hungry working in Hollywood.

The New Yorker says it’s been difficult getting used to the food in California because, frankly, there’s not much of it.

Basche doesn’t understand Los Angeles’ fascination with miniature foods, such as mini pizzas and burgers, and misses noshing on regular-sized NYC treats.

He explains, “The mini thing can be very frustrating for a New Yorker. I want the whole pizza or the whole burger. The mini burgers are the size of a dime! It’s like they’re putting you on a Hollywood diet without a choice because they know you’ll be photographed soon.”

He says L.A. “doesn’t know how to do Chinese food” like the East Coast, but the glam city is pretty good when it comes to fresh, organic snacks and sushi.

The Starter Wife premieres Friday (Oct. 10) on USA Network.
