‘Friday Night Lights’ Actress Becomes Football Fanatic

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Starring on the football drama Friday Night Lights gives one actress a whole new appreciation for the game.

Connie Britton plays supportive football wife Tami Taylor on the show, and playing a pigskin fanatic on TV has crossed over into her real life.

She says, “I was so not a football fan, but the show has gotten me into it. It’s given me an appreciation for football. Now I think it’s really fun.”

Britton says being part of the gridiron show has given her “lots of mileage” with the fellas.

She explains, “Guys are really impressed. They think, ‘Hey, she’s sporty!’ Nobody has to know that I don’t actually know anything about football.”

Though she enjoys watching games, Britton laments that real life football coaches “aren’t nearly as good looking” as her onscreen coach hubby, played by Kyle Chandler, giving her less eye candy on the field.

The new season of Friday Night Lights premieres today (Oct. 1) on DIRECTV’s 101 Network.
