Eva Longoria Parker’s Career Comes Full Circle

HOLLYWOOD (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Eva Longoria Parker believes everything in life comes full circle.

Case in point: She’s now hosting the event that gave her her big break back in 2002.

The Desperate Housewives star is hosting the 2008 ALMA Awards Friday (Sep. 12) on ABC, and says it’s surreal to helm the Latino awards show because it was the first place that embraced her when she arrived in Hollywood.

Says Longoria Parker: “My first red carpet ever was when I was nominated for my role on the soap The Young and the Restless [in 2002]. This is an evolution from that day!”

She says shows like the ALMA Awards wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for Latina golden girls and pioneers like Dolores del Rio, Maria Felix, and Rita Moreno, who Longoria Parker idolized growing up.

She explains, “I definitely watched West Side Story over and over as a kid. I even rooted for [white girl] Natalie Wood, but Rita was my favorite!”
